Spring!

Spring is finally here! It has really been wonderful weather the past two weeks, and I've been outside enjoying it as much as possible. I've tried to remember to take some pictures, which I'll post here for your pleasure...

First an old one - from around Christmas time, when we went up North to an old manor house. This is Albert standing next to an old piano-type-thing. It was really elaborate and beautiful, especially with the sun shining in on it.

Then, to fast forward to last weekend (I'll post a bit of the middle in a minute), we decided at the last minute to have an Easter Brunch party... because here in Holland you get a 4-day weekend for Easter - Good Friday and Whit Monday included! So, what better way to celebrate an extra holiday than with mimosas, egg hunts, French toast, and egg dying? Unfortunately the natural egg dyes I made (with turmeric, red cabbage, spinach, and beets) didn't turn out quite as well as their artificial counterparts... but they did result in some nice pastel colors, and it was still good fun.

It ended up being a very nice party, with at least five nationalities present (Dutch, American, Canadian, Peruvian, and Japanese) and sharing in the common delight of food.

The weather is really way too nice to sit inside anymore... but I'll make a quick post about our trip to Spa, Belgium, which was super nice.
